There’s a bewildering array of pond- and fish-keeping equipment – however, not all of this is essential.
Ponds without fish need no equipment, unless you are keen on a waterfall or fountain, in which case you will need a pump and possibly a few other items, especially if green water becomes a problem.
Fish-keepers need far more kit, not just to keep the pond attractive, but to promote the health of their charges. There’s a huge range of equipment out there designed to keep your fish healthy and your pond clear. But it could also keep your wallet empty, if you’re not careful….
So make sure that you only buy what you need. Read our equipment guides first to get an overview and an understanding of what all these things do, so you don’t become too dazed by the catalogues.
