Little Moreton Hall Garden (one of Cheshire's Gardens of Distinction)

Little Moreton Hall, Newcastle Rd, Congleton, Cheshire

Tel: 01260 272018

This famous black-and-white, moated manor house from Tudor times also has an intimate knot garden re-created to show visitors what the garden might have looked like. There are low clipped hedges, herbs and flowers that would have been grown in those days. Beyond the knot garden are typical fruit trees of the era (apple, medlar, pear and quince), historic vegetables, shady walks and a viewing mound.

Refreshments are available here too.
